The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning, that God
was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide;
and though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same;
but as God calls us one by one,
The Chain will link again.

I am sure she will continue to guide you, just as she has for the past 8 years. Think and pray for you often.

What a beautiful poem and although it doesn't ease the pain, I pray that it gives you hope and that you are able to truly grasp what the words mean. Haven't stopped thinking of you and praying for you to have a peaceful heart instead of a broken one.

Praying because I know that you have no idea how you are going to survive this. It's one heartbeat, one breath, one moment at a time. And if you can, remind yourself that God is good. Even when you are so angry, even when you don't know if you believe it, God is good all the time.

Beautiful poem Joany!

I pray for your strength daily. You, your family, and precious Carly are never far from my mind. Though it seems impossible, you will make it through this, and like the poem says, you will see her again! ((HUGS))

beautiful poem. you remain in our prayers...my girls remember you in their prayers nightly without me even reminding them. My heart breaks for you. Although I do not know the feeling of loosing a child, I lost my sister to cancer just 3 years ago and I honestly cannot imagine anything more painful. God Bless allof you we love you

As everyone else has said, it's a beautiful poem. I especially love the last line. The end of this month will mark the one year anniversary of the loss of my dad. I know it cannot compare to the loss of a child, but your poem rings so true for how I feel about losing him also.

Still thinking of you and praying for you daily.

You are always in my thoughts and prayers.

Don't think for a moment you are not.

Oh this poem is so beautiful! I, slong with so many others, who have never actually met you but feel like we know you to some degree, and I can't stop thinking about you and your sweet Carly! My tears were flowing as I read this poem as well as the previous entry! I can't imagine what you are all going through! My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you!

The link is never ever broken, maybe here right now it feels that way, but in our eternal life we are always together. Until then Carly is in your heart and she is so so close to you, feel her all around, within you as well as in all the things around. Just like she has shown you the way when she was physically there she will continue to show you the way now, show you how to cope, how to put one foot in front of the other and carry on.

I think of you every single day, many many times a day, I pray that you find some peace and comfort for your aching heart. Many (((((hugs))))))
